There is no doubt Ms. Marty has an eye for taking photographs and selecting objects and locations to be captured as evidenced by a generous sampling of her work in "Jacksonville, Florida-a photographic tour." I would love to see a Volumn Two of her out-takes and perhaps new material. Ms. Marty's book belongs on coffe tables in First Coast homes and as other reviewers have noted, the book is a great gift option for visitors or those folks contemplating a move to the Jacksonville area. To be sure, her book is not a travel brochure by any sense but it does provide a sampling of why we love living on the First Coast. Twenty dollars well spent! Highly recommend.Product details

As a lifetime resident of Jacksonville, I was delighted when I found this book! It is gorgeous - the photographs are absolutely stunning! The details included for each of the locations - including websites!!! - makes it double as a practical guide to many of our local landmarks. If you live in Jacksonville, you'll want this book. If you have friends and family outside of Jacksonville, get this book for them - they'll enjoy seeing the beauty of the community that Jacksonville residents enjoy!!
I live in Jacksonville and didn't think I would want a book of photos featuring places and things I see all the time. Boy, was I wrong. This photographer sees from a different perspective and is skilled at capturing what she sees through the lenses of her camera. I have been reintroduced to familiar places in ways I've never seen them before. The back of the book has information and websites for each photo. Even if you've never been to Jacksonville, you feel like you've been on vacation after "touring" our beautiful city via photos and website information. It's great to see that deems her book worthy.
Beautiful picture book. It really showcases Jacksonville's beautiful landmarks. The pictures are very pretty. I recommend as a souvenir of your Jacksonville experience.
This book offers a unique perspective to a city that has a bright past, present, and future. The geometric designs in architecture and nature captured throughout the book add special interest! A great blend of photos that spark one's curiosity to see even more of this beautiful city!
Taking photos of a Highway 10 sign, of a library shelf FULL of books called "Poetry Criticism," of a Singleton's Seafood Shack sign, of rows of identical gravestones, of the inside of a brewery does NOTHING to show Jacksonville's beauty!! What a disappointment!!
